Who started the Art Pad?
CAROLE ROBBERSON
The Art Pad is the creative project of artist and teacher, Carole Schatz Robberson. Carole studied art at Grinnell College in Iowa and The University of Wisconsin in Madison. Jobs in graphic design, medical illustration, darkroom photography, and gallery sales provided valuable work experience after college, but it was through motherhood that Carole found the fun side of art and the rewards of teaching. After a few years of on-the-job training in public schools, Carole taught after-school art classes at J's Art Studio and 4 years of K-1 art at Solomon Schechter Academy in Dallas. Before moving with her family to Austin in January of 2005, Carole established the art program for 1st -8th grade students at Torah Day School of Dallas and taught art classes in her home, The Art House.
